If you go nowadays through offices, you can see under each desk powerful computers. If you then look on the monitors, you usually sees Office applications, SAP or the like, browser or email programs. These are all applications, which mentioned computers not really charge to capacity. Actually those PC are not necessary on the jobs, since most are already placed in the LAN and programs and data provided by servers. In addition it comes that over a life cycle of 5 years (most are already superseded after 3 years) these PC costs between € 2,300. - to € 2,800. - (depending upon quantity). In these costs are contained procurement costs, equipment prices and operating cost.*) In addition you must expend effort for software licence management, unexpected failures of fans or harddisks etc.

In contrast to it our Thin Client is handy and easy, so that they can be installed at the back of each commercial flat screen. They are maintenance-free and quiet, because they have neither a harddisk or a fan. Since our Thin Client is also supplied with either pre-installed Windows or Linux, they adapt to the existing systems. By different terminal emulations some of our Thin Client can communicate also with mainframes.

Our standard devices use power between 3.5 W and 10 W. The High performance devices use up to maximally 21 W. The costs become in accordance with an economy calculation of the Fraunhofer Institut UMSICHT*) from the year 2008 on approx. € 1,600. - amount, with a life cycle of 5 years. Whereby contrary to the PC can be assumed that the Thin Client is this life cycle at least in use. As we already explained in other place, we attach importance on energy efficiency. Thus we found the following comparison in the economy calculation specified above also about energy costs: While with a standard PC over 5 years € 293.85 energy costs result on the average, these are with a standard Thin Client only € 30.33.
